When Life Feels Heavy or Overwhelming: Return to the Mystery Within

I was looking at the moon last night — it was beautiful, shining through the trees on a breezy summer evening, the air soft with that particular sweetness of night — and as I sat there staring at the sky, I thought, isn't it wild how we give so much meaning to life shaped by the limits of our minds and the conditioning we've grown up in?
We've created so much meaning through systems shaped by the mind. We hide ourselves from our hearts and our feelings in order to conform… and all the while, there's this huge moon hanging in the sky — reminding us of the bigger theme we're a part of.
I like to remind myself of this, especially when the world feels heavy, chaotic, or uncertain — when it seems like everything is shifting and unraveling at once.
In times like these, I find it helps to zoom out, soften in, and return to something older, wider, quieter… the vastness we come from, and still belong to.
We are surrounded by stars and planets and the quiet, ever-present beauty, mystery, and magic of life. What a beautiful invitation — to step into the mystery. The wonderful thing is that your senses bring so much of that beauty and magic to your heart — and it's all found in just being.
And I have seen it over and over again: when you can be you, life can begin to unfold for you. You don't need to be different, be louder, have more friends, a better job — whatever it is you think is missing.
You need you.
And the truth is — you are mystery.
What you bring is a unique gift.
Mystery lives within us. Life is a mystery.
And it's a mystery how we communicate, how we feel, how we know.
Mystery isn’t something to solve — it’s something to belong to.
So take some time for sensory walks and soft being…
And perhaps some time to sit under the sky tonight.
Let the mystery touch you through your senses.
Let yourself belong to something that doesn’t need explaining.
I’ll write again soon with a gentle invitation for this season.
With heart,
Julia
