2. Closing Stress Cycles
An invitation for your body to release
When we talk about stress, it helps to differentiate between what causes stress — and what stress does chemically inside the body.
Sometimes we can’t change the external triggers right away. Or they’re subtle and running in the background, like old belief patterns or quiet inner tensions that are hard to pin down. But even if we can’t always name or shift the cause — we can support the body in releasing what it’s holding.
Especially for sensitive people, it can be soothing to have small daily rituals that help the body recalibrate and find its rhythm again. Watch this short video to learn more and you can download a printable copy of closing stress cycles below the video
3. Scales of Safety
A Nervous System Support Practice Inspired by Deb Dana
Safety is a deeply embodied experience.
We’ve been exploring this together in many different ways — through sensory awareness, regulation practices, and also simply by connecting in presence and allowing ourselves to just be. Moment by moment, this sends cues of safety to your nervous system.
It’s important to remember: because safety is embodied, it’s the body that brings the information of safety to the brain — not the other way around. The body registers the cues first. The mind might then put words or thoughts to the experience and makes sense of it, but before that happens, the nervous system already knows.
Deb Dana, renowned psychotherapist and co-founder of the Polyvagal Institute, offers a helpful image and beautiful practice to support your nervous system called the Scales of Safety. Watch the video below to learn more.
