Before diving into this section, please take a moment to read the sections "1. Befriending Your Senses" and "2. Principles of Regulation - An Introduction to Regulation Practices". This will help set the context for all nervous system regulating practices that you try.

Now you’re all set…

Now that we’ve laid the foundation, here’s a booklet of nervous system regulating activities for you to gently explore. This booklet will also give you a good idea of some of the rationale behind the simple things you can do to help you. Don’t worry if any of the explanations seem abstract or full of scientific words, it will all become clear as we progress with the material and in our sessions. You’ll get more of a felt-experience of the work and understand more about how the nervous system works when we do your nervous system map.

The next step is to explore some of these practices and allow yourself to play with them and explore, at a pace that feels right for you.
Simply browse through and notice what you feel drawn to. Or print them out and treat them like tarot cards you can draw from, like one or or two a day :)
Feel into how that particular practice is doing the opposite of survival mode.
Trust what resonates for you, and gently explore new practices — one step at a time.

We’ll return to many of these together in our sessions and throughout the programme.

As you open the booklet, you might ask yourself:

What does my body feel curious about today?
What would feel gentle to try this week?
Or intuitively just pick one…

Let your body guide you. Let your senses lead.
And remember to take many moments to pause.
Breathe.
And trust that your journey has already begun — and is unfolding in its own wise way.

This is just your starting base — a first toolkit to help you feel familiar with this way of working.
