Transforming The Layers Beneath Your Story
Music of the Womb
Long before we could speak, long before we even took our first breath, our bodies were already learning.
In the womb, we swam in an ocean of sensations, rhythms, and feelings. The beat of a mother’s heart. The tone of her voice. The currents of stress or calm moving through her body — not only her own feelings, but also her response to her environment, and even the echoes of her own earliest imprints filtering through her.
This time in the womb also carries ancestral threads — the patterns held in our mother’s body, the echoes of what she once carried as an egg within our grandmother, and the wider energy fields that hold and shape us, carrying more than we can ever name.
And perhaps we also swam in the ocean of knowing where we came from — our cosmic home, our greater consciousness.
All this became the first music our cellular being and nervous system attuned to.
The first imprints we carry
These early experiences don’t usually live as stories we can easily recall in words. They live as imprints — body memories, nervous system patterns, subtle field impressions. A sense of being wanted or unwanted. The feeling of belonging or never belonging. The atmosphere of safety and receiving, or of unease.
They shape how we live, how we move forward, how we perceive, and how easily we might get stuck. Even the way our birth unfolded can echo in patterns throughout our life.
How old patterns echo today
So often the struggles we face today — in relationships, in work, in how we feel about ourselves — echo much older imprints waiting to be seen and met with care.
They may show up in ways that feel puzzling:
⟡ The ache of loneliness that never quite makes sense
⟡ Being washed over by emotions, with a tendency to carry other people’s feelings as our own
⟡ The quiet fear of being too much or not enough
⟡ Overriding our needs and boundaries
⟡ The difficulty relaxing, even when nothing is wrong
Layers upon layers
On top of these early imprints, our later experiences add layer upon layer — enhancing or masking our true inner light. Often we focus only on what came later: trying to work through traumas and experiences to help ourselves feel whole. And yet, we forget about the earliest patterns — and the deep knowing our body holds.
Your hidden gifts long to live
We also forget that inner work is not only about what was painful or missing. It is just as much about reconnecting with the qualities and potential we were born with — the gifts we never learned to fully honour, or perhaps learned to hide.
⟡ Your exquisite sensitivity and softness
⟡ Your deeply feeling nature
⟡ Your innate goodness and knowing
⟡ Your desire to connect fully from the heart
⟡ Your inner knowing and greater connection to all that is
⟡ Your full potential
I believe these all live in you still, waiting behind the curtains to be met fully. It has certainly been my journey ever unfolding.
Returning to your essence
When we reconnect through the body — slowing our pace, listening deeply, giving ourselves permission to simply be — something true begins to flow. As we notice the patterns at the edges of awareness and bring balance to the nervous system, we create space for what longs to emerge. And this has its very own magic and medicine — your magic and medicine.
Like a plant unfurling toward the sun, your essence naturally returns to its rhythm when it has the nourishment, space, connection and support it needs.
This is why my work is so intuitive: somatic work so often leads us back to earlier layers, helping you unblock what is truly in the way in a grounded way from the present moment, bring in new patterns and follow the wisdom and intelligence of your system from the roots — your body, your cells, your nervous system, your inner knowing and your connection to a wider field of consciousness that goes far beyond words and what the rational mind can grasp.
A gentle invitation
If you’d like to explore this kind of work with me, the best way to begin is with a gentle, pressure-free Connection Call, which you can book via my How to Get Started page. I offer different coaching formats, and if we resonate and you feel drawn to work together, we can explore which pathway would serve you best. Resonance matters deeply in this work, so every step of the way is obligation free.
Most of all, remember that these deeper, earlier layers are not fixed. They are waiting to be met — and when they are, something beautiful opens. This is the heart of the work I love to share.

I’m not a studied expert in perinatal psychology, but through years of somatic training and my own lived experience, I’ve learnt a great deal about how these early imprints shape the way we move through life. If this theme resonates with you, here are a few resources I value:

Your energy and presence are gifts to share with the world — even if they are deeply quiet. They are the very fuel that helps you transform your life and truly flourish.
You can tap into this when you ground in the essence of being you.
That’s what this blog is here to hold: reflections from my own long journey home to myself, interwoven with the insights I’ve gained through years of lived experience and training.
