Why work with the nervous system?

When the nervous system is chronically activated, it doesn’t always look like crisis — and it may not even feel like stress — yet it can quietly affect wellbeing, emotions, and behaviour in almost every area of life. These states can hold you back from feeling fully alive, grounded, and soul-connected — and keep you feeling stuck in patterns of perfectionism, over-functioning or procrastination. Chronic survival can disconnect you from your dreams and desires, and even affect how you connect with others from the heart.

Chronic survival states are more common than you think — our human experience is deeply rooted in the nervous system.

Chronic survival patterns are not conscious choices…

If some of these patterns sound familiar, it’s not because you’re doing something wrong — it’s your body protecting you.

When your nervous system can start soften back into safety, you naturally feel more present, alive, and guided from within — instead of stuck in survival loops.

When your system is stuck in ‘on’ mode (mobilised, hyper-alert):

⟡ Perfectionism, over-achieving, or feeling the need to stay in control
⟡ A loud inner critic, rumination, or looping thoughts
⟡ Chronic inner tension, anxiety, or difficulty fully relaxing — even in quiet moments
⟡ Overwhelm, racing thoughts, or task avoidance
⟡ Feeling hyper-vigilant in relationships, people pleasing or struggling to set clear boundaries
⟡ Difficulty connecting with yourself or others — even when you’re trying
⟡ Recurring waves of emotion or stress that feel hard to ‘explain’

Examples of chronic survival mode:

When your system leans toward shut down (low energy, disconnected, flat):

⟡ Fatigue, emotional drain, or a quiet sense of hopelessness
⟡ Brain fog, sluggishness, or trouble concentrating
⟡ Feeling numb, lonely, or disconnected from desire and inner spark
⟡ Wanting to act — but feeling unable to move forward
⟡ Difficulty staying true to yourself or expressing what you need
⟡ Disrupted sleep, low appetite or digestion, or a general sense of disconnection
⟡ A vague stuckness or the sense that “I don’t feel like myself anymore”

What is the SSP?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a science-based music listening programme that helps restore balance in your nervous system.

When combined with coaching support, it becomes a powerful pathway, gently guiding you out of inner stress, tension, procrastination, deeply rooted limiting beliefs, over-functioning, and other forms of chronic survival mode

This optional six-month track layers the SSP into my coaching support, creating a gentle pathway out of chronic survival patterns that are keeping you stuck and find your way into more inner calm, groundedness, and self-connection.

So you can let your soul begin to lead again, instead of the old protective beliefs & patterns.

Hi, I’m Julia

Trauma-informed intuitive guide and soulful embodiment coach with an extensive background that is rooted in both science and spirit.
I’m trained as a SSP Provider, and also have a background in medicine, mindfulness-based psychotherapy, somatic trauma therapy, sound healing, spiritual life coaching, family constellations, and more. This background gives me a unique understanding of the body, the nervous system, and the unseen layers that shape our experience.

I bring not only my training, but also my own journey with the SSP. The SSP helped me create deep shifts in how safe, open, and connected I could feel in daily life, which is why I became certified and now offer it as a standalone coaching pathway — or as a woven thread within my offerings.

Minimum commitment: 6 months.
This gives the nervous system the time, gentleness, and continuity it needs for preparation, processing and integration. At the same time, every SSP journey is unique — your listening rhythm and support needs may shift along the way. We’ll remain flexible and responsive together, so the process truly serves you.

After your initial 6 months (if you haven’t yet completed the listening)

Every SSP journey is unique: Some people move through listening more quickly, others take many months to complete. You might listen for a few minutes at a time at first, or for longer periods of 10-15 minutes as your nervous system finds its rhythm. Throughout, you’ll have my guidance every step of the way.
After your initial 6 months, if you haven’t yet completed the listening, you can:

⟡ Continue on your own with email support
⟡ Continue with your monthly coaching subscription, tailored to you as needed
⟡ Your SSP access and email support (for one round of SSP core) remain for one year.

  • The Safe and Sound protocol is a well-researched, evidence-based and safe method and has helped thousands of people worldwide. Click here to download a brochure or here to get to the official SSP website.

    The SSP was developed by renowned Dr. Steven Porges, based on his Polyvagal Theory.

    It involves several hours of music split into short listening sessions (anything from a few minutes to half an hour) to support your vagus nerve. You get an individually-tailored listening plan that is fine-tuned to your needs as we go along.

    I will share all the details and answer any questions in your complementary calls.

    We'll also do an assessment before you commit to the programme to make sure that the SSP is right for you and that you do not have any contraindications.

  • The SSP works by gently stimulating your vagus nerve (which is a part of the autonomic nervous system) to re-attune to more inner safety and trust.

    This inner safety helps your autonomic nervous system re-calibrate and shift into more harmony, which can help facilitate deep self-connection, authentic connection with others and deep inner transformation. It also helps ease many other conditions like chronic stress and anxiety.

    Your vagus nerve affects many areas of your wellbeing and physical functioning.

    I will explain this, and how the SSP works, to you in more detail in your complimentary Connection Calls. After our first call, you will get access to an SSP Info Page with videos and brochures that you can then refer back to at any time, as you decide whether or not you would like to do this coaching package with me.

  • Yes, the SSP can be wonderful addition to your therapy work.

    It can help you access and shift deeper layers of your themes and facilitate deep transformation as you shift into more connection with your true self.

    As your nervous systems works to become more regulated with the music from from the SSP and the embodiment coaching, it also starts to release what was keeping it in dysregulation. This is what you can work on in more depth with your therapist.

    If you have trauma, it is very important that you do the SSP with the support of a therapist in addition to my guidance, to help you integrate the emerging feelings and themes.

    That said, many changes actually happen on their own as you go along. Some, or even many, of these take place out of your awareness (because your nervous system works beneath your consciousness).

    The SSP can be a very powerful tool and this is one of the reasons why it is so important to have a tailored listening plan and to do the programme with a certified provider, so that your system does not get overwhelmed.

    The SSP is not a stand alone programme. It should always be seen as the beginning or middle part of an inner journey, because your nervous system still works for up to seven weeks after the end.

    We can discuss this more in your complementary call. I will also be happy to talk to your therapist or refer you to a trauma therapist who is also an SSP provider, if need be.

  • In this particular package, embodiment coaching focuses on helping you get a felt-understanding your autonomic nervous system and how it translates into your unique experiences of life - and what you can do to help yourself regulate to feelings safety & connectedness.

    Understanding more about the autonomic nervous system and how it translates into your life will help you navigate challenges from different, new perspectives that help you feel empowered and immerse more in the wisdom & energy of your whole self. You can continue to adapt what you learn and explore the the practices long after the coaching process is over.

    The body plays a huge role in helping your nervous system be well-regulated (this is one of the reasons why practices such as yoga, qi-gong, breathwork, mindfulness & bodyfulness and bringing awareness to the body and somatic therapies can be so helpful).

    We will zoom in on how your body speaks to you and how you can ‘speak’ to your body - and how you can harness its wisdom to support you. You’ll also learn how you can notice early on when your nervous system starts to become activated and help it find back into more regulation.

  • Only you can decide if the programme feels right for you. That's why you have a set of complementary Connection Calls - so that you can get to know me and to ensure you get enough spaciousness for your inner knowing to unfold.

    It's important that you feel 100% yes!

    One thing I do truly believe, though, is:
    Supporting your autonomic nervous system can support you on any part of your journey of transformation. There are many other ways, besides this package, which you can use to help you regulate and support your nervous system. For example, doing regular body-mind awareness & mindful breathing practices.

  • The SSP it is not intended to be a stand-alone programme. Whatever you do, be sure to find appropriate guidance to help you work through it - it doesn't have to be with me.

    Why?

    While the SSP is very gentle and safe, it is important to tailor the listening process as you go along so that your nervous system does not get overwhelmed. Every nervous system is unique, like a fingerprint, so it is important to have step by step support and guidance and tweak the listening as you go along.

    It's also important that you learn to navigate your unique nervous system as you go along, so that you can stay regulated, integrate what is showing up and adapt the listening pace to your needs.


    As your system shifts into more safety, it will start to release the themes that it was stuck with in different ways - some you'll notice and others may happen entirely out of your awareness.
    Themes that emerge may need guided support so that they can be processed, integrated and released as you continue to ground in your body and support your nervous system. You need somebody at your side who knows what to look out for.

    I highly recommend you do the SSP only with certified practitioners who are willing to guide you through the process as they know what to look out for as you go along.

  • It’s really important that you feel 100% comfortable doing this programme (or any work with me). It is equally important that this programme is a good fit for you. That’s why I offer a set of complimentary connection calls to walk you through the package and discuss all the considerations - so that we can get to know each other and see if we resonate.

  • Don't worry, often times its the idea of 'body wisdom' that can seem inaccessible. We will be working step by step with where you are at in easy ways. This programme is for YOU and will be tailored to you.

    You will get a better idea and feel after your complementary calls.

  • Sessions can be scheduled Tues - Thurs between 12.00 and 6.00 pm Central European Time.

  • No, the sessions themselves will not be recorded. You will get ample resources and tailored-to-you guidance in video, audio or written form based on what emerges as we go along

  • For this programme, it is highly advisable for you have some time flexibility around the sessions to be present with what comes up, do small tasks and practices, do your self-care consistently (for example go for nourishing walks in nature).

    That said, if you are always busy, this might also be due to chronic nervous system activation (survival mode), in which case you would benefit from doing the programme, even though you have little time.

    We can discuss your specific situation in your complementary call, so that you and I can feel into if it is a good for you at the moment.
